Retention of patients that have enrolled into a study is critical to the success of the study. When patients are lost to follow up or are non-compliant, new patients are needed and time is lost. Much of the retention and compliance responsibility falls on the study coordinator, who typically doesn’t have the time to deal with such details. Reminder calls and compliance communications are typically done in the evening from their home, if they have the time.
